I said "why after buying your dream purse are you spending money on another purse that isn't as nice?" she explained the need for an everyday purse vs. the "jem" purse and that each purse had it's purpose. Moreover she explained why she loves purses, what they mean to her and why they are worth the money. From that point on I haven't given her guff about her purses.
My wife and I were in Monaco last fall and took a side trip to Ventimiglia Italy to visit the Friday market.

She bought three leather purses. Each had a unique and specific purpose. I was impressed with the amount of thought and planning she put into pursuing them, and even more impressed with her bargaining skills with the vendors.
