Probably better to set your watch to the US official time websites. iPad and iPhone are notoriously off. I also, as a rule, never set anything by the clock on my BMW. It's a 2011 and it only shows the approximate time, somewhere.

After 20 days, my SubC is smack bang dead on accurate. +0.
Fluctuations occurred in between though, but no more than +1 sec per day and -1 overnight. |

the perfect watch should be +6 to +9 sec a day.
because at the end of that whole month, you'd be at most ~5mins fast it's always better early than late for any appointments, and 5 mins is a very safe leeway. Adjust at the end of every month back in sync. |

When I first got my 116713 a couple months back, I was shocked because I lost about 15 seconds a day. I was about 2 minutes slow by the end of the first week.
Now, it seems to have settled into a nice rhythm of about avg 0 to -4 a day depending on what I do. I think a new watch takes a bit of time to get all of its new bits and pieces warmed up, so to speak. For example now I know that after a jog around the Tan, I often pick up 1 to 2 seconds. I know I can cause the watch to pick up the same amount if I hold it a certain way and give it a good shake for a few minutes...but why bother, so much hard work for just +2 to the day? And after all, losing 4 to 6 seconds a day doesn't bug me any more. Haven't lost any time today, though I've lost 17 seconds since Friday. That's pretty good for 5 days! My Sub runs about +4 seconds per day......well within COSC standards. Same goes for my Patek and ALS. My JLC is the most accurate - +1 second per day.
