Sub C bracelet removal

Don't get me wrong the glidelock bracelet is fantastic, but I want to see how my watch looks on different bracelets as well.

I tried to search but couldn't anything on removing the glidelock bracelets.

I know I have to remove the springbars where the lugs are, but am I supposed to do anything else? I know the older bracelets have a springbar in the clasp but the glidelock doesn't seem to have that.

Can someone help me? I don't want to screw anything up.

Thank you,
C

So confused as to why you would even want to.

Different steel bracelet as a whole, or just the glidelock part?

Please tell me why? Very curious.

I'm trying to remove the bracelet so that I can try on different bracelets.

The older bracelets have a springbar in the center to cut the braclet in half so that it doesn't get in the way while you work on the springbars on the lugs.

Sorry for confusion, I just got it done.

THanks

Other bracelets aren't going to fit your watch... If anything try it on a strap or zulu or something. Honestly why would you want to try on other bracelets when you already have the best on there?

I'd want to know the best way to do this to put a NATO on the sub c. Do you need curved spring bars to put a NATO on it? That's what I thought I read somewhere...

Sorry, By other bracelets I did mean a Nato/Zulu strap. I didn't say it because I know some people don't like ceramic bezels with these straps.

I read that the regular spring bars are fine. But some people also prefer to use a different (beefier) one.

I have a DIY posted at http://www.minus4plus6.com/maintenance.htm#removal You might want to consider an Everest (released this week) or a RubberB. I use both on my GMT-C and they are definitely cool, and much better than a NATO. The black strap on a black faced and black ceramic bezeled watch certainly works...

Thanks Sheldon! So it looks like it's relatively easy with a Bergeon tool (I have the standard one but the pincher type is a bit pricey). I bought a Horween Shell Cordovan Nato to change things up a bit.

Like I mentioned in the DIY, the removal is the easy part, but the reinstallation of the SEL is the hard part and where the more expensive Bergeon tool is well worth the money (and the fewer expletives coming out of your mouth when you discover a reinstallation scratch).

I was successful at removing the bracelet using a paperclip before I purchased the Bergeon 6767F springbar tool.

I did it on my first try...it's really the same as other watches without holes on the lugs.

I put the steel bracelet from my new sub C in the box the 2nd day and got a Maratac NATO on it. Easy to remove the spring bars with a T Pin. I had the kind folks at Wempe replace the fat Rolex springbars with something slightly thinner but still SS. 93 grams..... So comfortable I sometimes forget I have it on..... I have several bands including Cordivan, Bond, and Black. Maratac Mil series NATOs are best, IMHO.
