The red date wheel comes in the Turn-O-Graph Datejust. Reference number should be 116264.

Plus the many of the vintage models over the past 40 odd years.

That's correct, a full red date wheel (every number) on comes on a DJ Turn-O-Graph 11626x.

There are also late model SS DJ's that come with an alternating red/black (roulette) date wheel. Not sure what determines whether or not a SS DJ will have a roulette date wheel.

I think the roulette date wheel is random.

Certain dials on the Datejust can come with the roulette date wheel (these are denoted with an asterisk in the dial master catalogue), but it is pot luck whether those dials do actually come with a roulette or a standard black. As noted above, the only model with an all-red datewheel is the Turn-O-Graph

Red/black date wheel is reserved to rolesor DJ (116201/03/31/33 and 116234 models) since the end of last year (last master catalog).

It comes standard with some specific dials :
. for 116201/03/31/33 : black and black arab concentric
. for 116234 : black - black arab concentric - blue - pink - silver/black - steel/silver - white

Before september 2011, it was also available for full RG and YG DJ as well as SS DJ with domed bezel 116200, with the same restricted lists of dials.

(note every year the collection of available dials may change with add or remove of certain ones).

I don't get what the idea is behind this roulette date wheel.

It doesn't seem to denote any practical advantage and just seems to be a differentiation for the sake of being different, as Rolex tends to be on occasions

I do like the touch of red however

My 116234 with the steel and silver dial - there is no idea to get, it's simply different and awesome. I look forward to seeing the date change and "seeing red".

Does anyone know if an all red TOG date wheel will work on a 3035 movement?
