First Rolex in transit, Explorer II Z Series
I have my first Rolex on the way, a white dial Explorer II late Z series. Are there certain things to look for when it arrives to ensure authenticity? It comes with all original paperwork and boxes.

Wow, straight to the point lol
Welcome to the forum. Probably should do research before you buy the watch. Post up some pics when it gets in

Is it worth taking to an AD to verify? I have standard tools for resizing bracelets will they work with this watch? The closest AD is about an hour or so from my house.

You could also use a local certified watchmaker.
Yes have it checked. And then pressure tested once the case back is screwed in again. Much luck on the outcome.

Looks overall ok but we can't see any reference numbers so you can't be 100 %. taking the back off is always my first check to do, them I examine everything else, systematically. Close ups of the clasp and all reference numbers is very important.

If you paid the market price then you are good.
If you paid half the market price then no good. |

Exactly. If you get what is shown you are good. I have owned two Z serial Explorer IIs. One with the 3185 movement and one with the 3186 movement making it a newer Z and neither had the engraved rehaut.
So the pics make me a bit nervous. However I believe that really late in the production they did introduce the rehaut engraving into the Zs. Again good luck and let us know how it turns out. If you get that watch in the pics it looks to be New in the Box New old Stock. So cheers and congratulations. |

Recieved my watch this afternoon, everything seems to check out to me. The box and all accessories (I think) were included. The serial number matches the one on the hang tag. Here are some of my images.

Looks good. Glad everything worked out. I still would have it checked out at a AD to make sure everything is ok on the inside
