Do you think that the Daytona will come with a ceramic bezel on ss models?

I like the look of the Daytona but think I would scratch the ss bezel quickly. I love the look of the ceramic bezel Daytona's but do not want or may I say can't afford a gold one. Do you think they will come out with ceramic bezels on the ss and still be priced under $15k?

I don't know about the pricing, but I think that Rolex will continue rolling out Cerachrom bezels across the entire Daytona line

SS bezel isn t so bad scratchwise ,and you can always get those polishing out -however i wouldn t-, ceramic is nice but seen scratched\chipped ones where polishing isnt an option just a replacement for $$$
And that s only the bezel but what will do with the case &the bracelet?

Just a matter of time, but how long it will take is just guesswork.

Myself would like to see a Daytona SS like the vintage 6263 black aluminum insert you can keep your ceramic its just too expensive for what it is.

It appears inevitable. Whether it will happen at Basel 2013 or later, hard to say.

Some of the vintage Daytona models (far too bloody expensive now) rank among the best looking chronographs made. I wish Rolex would put out a tribute to them like the orange hand Exp II.

The subs and gmt turn. So I'm not sure they will. But they seem like they are reinventing the entire line every year. What will be next? Great question. One clue might be the fixed bezel redesigns have been metal.

Great question but I guess no one knows.

Yes the vintage Daytona is now very expensive back in the 1970/80s Rolex had a had job to give them away very poor sellers then. But the inserts are still cheap to buy as they are aluminum and not like the slither of expensive ceramic. And my own personal 6263 insert is still as good today as it was back in 1982 when my Father first bought it.

I dont think they will since the bezel doesnt spin like the subs and GMT's do. But you nver know with Rolex. It seems every time we think we have them figured out, they go and change things dramaticly

I bought the tudor Chrono just because the black bezel, and the older daytona's with the black bezel are so dam sexy.. The daytone with black ceramic bezel with white face and black chrono dials would be HOT!! Someone should photoshop one to see how it would turn out..

The reason I said $15K is because that is what the SS daytona will cost in 2-3 years!

Coin flip - but I'd guess it could happen with the 50th at Basel.

Not sure why that would make the slightest difference - they have already put ceramic (non-rotating) bezels on the Daytona. They just have not put them on the SS models yet.
