16520 Tiffany Daytona

http://www.ebay.com/itm/130825749719...84.m1423.l2649

Does this look okay ?
The RSC papers give me some comfort, but appreciate your thoughts.

Many thanks

I have no idea if Rolex made one or not. But what I can tell you from the paperwork is that the watch maker who did the service added the bracelet (it is not original) and when it was sent to Rolex for service they returned it to him as he refused to let them do what they wanted to warranty the watch. They wanted to put a WG second hand on it, three black chrono hands and a new dial. My guess, it's aftermarket mods and they wanted to put it all back to original.

I don't think I'd go off bidding until some smarter people than myself chime in.

You would want Tiffany papers as well as a receipt if possible. More provenance the better with Tiffany Rolex watches

To me, the Tiffany and Co markings are "aftermarket".

Note that Rolex did nothing to the watch other than performing an estimate of repair.

The $3500 spend seems to have gone elsewhere.

I'd love to bet in this auction but I am not entirely sure if this dial ( and hands ) are original.

I have never seen a Tiffany and Co dial on a Daytona before.
My 16520 have silver hands and this one has black hands, not to mention the big red one.

Thanks for any help.

Doesn't look right to me. I've seen Tiffany on the Zenith series, but never in red. And the red second hand is definitely not from the 16520 series. It's either fake or some super rare prototype.

Rolex Tiffany 16520

I am certainly not an expert on Tiffany dial Rolex watches, but I can say that I own 5 Rolex Tiffany dial watches (2 datejusts,a sub, explorer I and explorer II), 4 have the Rolex Warranty Certificate with Tiffany and Co. on the certificates. Of the 4, two have been to Rolex for service in the last few years. Although I am not an expert, the font on the 16520 Tiffany on Ebay is questionable, as is the Rolex service estimate which in my opinion is incomplete, and seems to be missing Page 1 of the report which would give additional detailed information about the condition of the watch. Of the 5 Tiffany dial Rolex watches I own, all were produced between 1989 and 1992, and the Tiffany and Co. font is identical on all 5. The Tiffany dial Rolex 16520 on Ebay has a slightly different font, which makes me question the authenticity. I wish whoever buys the watch the best of luck, but I don't plan to bid on the watch. Best Regards, Bob

I'm no expert but it gives me pause. I'd be careful here.

That red chrono hand is most certianlty a fake. it also looks to me that the red tiffany writing is an aftermarket add on. Looks like a badly butchered zenith Daytona

Unlike OEM Rolex issue, at least all the hands are very legible.

There is no way to tell the watches are exactly the same as a normal Daytona with Tiffany added you need the Tiffany receipt.

The seller has pulled the listing. I know that one of his friends is regular seller on TZ.
