Bulgari anyone?

A friend wants to sell this and the I'm loving the patina on it. What would be a fair price? 13 year old, never serviced/rarely worn. On rubber with additional bracelet.

I really don't know. Not a Bulgari fan either. I'd take it to a place that sell Bulgari and find out what they are running right now. That might be of some help. For some reason I think my AD sells Bulgari.

My only concern is that the cost of its next service may come close to the value of the watch.

It is worth around £700 I reckon, a service may run to £400-500. Then there's no chance of getting £1200 for it.

If you can get it for a few hundred and you like it plenty, why not?

I can get it for around £450 but my only concern is I can't service it in Kuwait. I don't think they have a workshop and the ship the smallest jobs to switzerland.

Would I need to service it anytime soon, it hasn't been worn for a long time and is running great.

Its likely an ETA 28XX so would be easily serviceable by a local watchsmith if you're happy with it not going through Bulgari themselves.

I wouldn't really mind that I guess.

Well, considering it's a 12 year old watch. The guy has a couple of Rolex, a Panerai and a Santos. Never seen him wear this. He claims to have worn it for the first year he bought it, the stopped when he got his first Rolex.

Almost certainly an ETA movement, so parts should be available all over the world. If you have a local watch guy with some skills, he should be able to get what he needs. It's a nice looking watch and not much money.

I'm not familiar with the brand but I'm pretty sure Al Pacino wore one in Heat.

I have a couple of these, the aluminium chrono and the SS GMT on rubber strap. Just had the aluminium serviced and ran at circa GBP 370 including new rubber bezel. They are good beach watches but that is it. They have low resale value so buy it because you like the watch and the price and note that trading it on will not be so easy.

They got some good pieces after Daniel Roth came into the fold, but this isn't one of them. Looks really dated. I might swing $350 USD at most.
