What oyster no-dates are available?

I'm curious what dials and bracelets are available on the Oyster no-date. There are only a few dials and one bracelet on swissluxury.

By "Oyster no date" do you then mean the "Oyster Perpetual"?

The Oyster Perpetual and Air-King got updated this year (as did the "Oyster Date), and you can see them on www.rolex.com

According to the newest Rolex catalogue, dial variations are:

AK:
  • Blue dial, concentric centre, orange Arabic numerals (except the WG at 6)
  • Silver dial, also concentric centre, like the above.
  • White dial a la Explorer, just white.
  • Blue dial with small Roman numerals.

Perpetual:
  • Siver dial, outer cencentric rings, large 3, 6 and 9 (3 + 9 printed, 6 applied WG).
  • Blue dial, small Roman numerals like on the AK.
  • Silver dial a la Explorer, just silver.

Thanks for the correction Bo. I have been erroniously calling my Oyster Perpetual an "Oyster ND or No date"

Nah, it wasn't meant as any correction but to be clear about what model was meant.

I've seen pictures of the TT Oyster Perpetual (#12433M) on a Jubliee bracelet, is this official or something someone added?

Very nice Ron.

I have a 1990 version with Black dial. I'm think of seeing what it would look like with a Croc strap just for something different.

I like it better without the date window, that kind of spoils the simplicity. That's why I started this thread asking about the no-date one...

Well,if you don`t like the "cyclops",then you maybe should look at some other watch manufacturer.Because, something that is quintessential for Rolex cannot "spoils the simplicity".So,there are many great and quality watches(Breitling,Omega,Panerai,IWC...)and I`m sure that you will found something that suits you.
Me personaly...well,I`m a fan of a Rolex, but for the cost of one ND model(AK,OP...)you can buy much, much better and more complicated watch from Omega or Breitling.
Worth thinking,isn`t it?

vukotab,

If I wanted something "much more complicated", I could get a digital watch that tells altitute, temperature, direction, and all kinds of other things, probably better than a Rolex. In fact, I could get a whole pile of them for the price of a Rolex.

As I said, I like the simple classic look, like the one pictured in this thread.

Clean and nice vintage Rolex! The best of Roles design from the 60s.

If Rolex discontinues the OP, will it be rare? Not many buy it now... My father has a nice TT OP;)

Especially since they just updated it...

But, if no one wants to collect it, it doesn't matter how rare it is, it still won't go up in value.

How 'bout a Sea-Dweller? [No Cyclops?] That would be my choice if I had to have a date feature.

For a tool watch, I'd rather have an ND sub. The SD has all that extra metal to support several thousand PSI that I don't need, and an extra hole in the container for the helium release. I guess it would be tougher though.

Actually I've really started to like the Explorer I. Nice and simple, and doesn't look too pretentious.

I think my favorite thing about it is how the crystal sticks up above the bezel. I know it's more prone to being chipped, but it shows how thick it is and it just looks cool (and I don't really do much that would chip it).

I hope they don't go to a domed crystal.

I feel compelled to comment on one of the above Reply-responses in which someone suggested that if you do not like the cycops/date, perhaps you should look at another 'better' watch, such as an Omega, etc. Consider the following. Many Rolex owners do not prefer the cyclops/date. You are not alone. True, they are in the minority, but many thousands of people every year buy a no-date Rolex....by choice. They like the clean look. That is why Rolex makes the AK and redesigned it in May, 2007. That is why Rolex makes the no-date Sub. They would not make it if people did not like and buy these models. I don't think Rolex would tell you to consider another brand simply because you do not like their flagship models with dates.

Rolex is the best, most durable, watch made today. Do not let anyone steer you to Omega, Longines, etc. True, there are more expensive watches than Rolex (although most of these two brands are not), and even handmade watches, but when you consider the total package of craftsmanship, durability, and service, Rolex is the best, even with the no-date. Stay with Rolex. The grass is not greener on the other side.......unless you are talking about the LV Sub Rolex!
