Can you guys help me out?
Hi everyone ! I have been wanting to buy a midsize yachtmaster for sometime now I like to think I know a little about what to look for to rule out a fake but I'm not sure about this one. I have been looking at midsize platinum yachtmasters both at AD and on ebay. Can someone tell me if the date number on the follow watch is correct... it's been awhile since I have seen one in at the AD. Should the number one be a straight number or with the little tail at the top like the one in this auction. Item number 230202954012
http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-YACHTMASTE...QQcmdZViewItem any help would be appreciated.... i think it should be straight but not sure. |

You can compare it to the one I listed in this forum: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=28237
HighlineTime seems like a legit dealer. ~Hien |

Is it me, or do those date numbers look a little "thick"?

I think it looks OK
I have yet to see a fake mid size YM. Plus the hands look legit on this. Most fake YM's borrow the hands from the fake subs and thus are too thin.
I think the date wheel looks OK. This is all just my opinion of course. |

Look at the date font
The date font is definitely different than shown in the photos that Hien just posted of his Yachtmaster....

Not to me. Not sure if it matters but the ebay watch is mid size and Hien's is full size. I am not sure if they use the same date wheel. Keep in mind these 2 pictures are taken from different angles as well. I think it looks OK but like I said, just my opinion.

style of number
looked on the rolex site and their number one is a straight line w/o the tail on the top. would they use a different type of font on a different size?

From the pictures, I think it's O.K. But being a used Rolex dealer like HighlineTime, they should invest in a better quality camera like mine :) Canon XTI with macro lense. Why go cheap when you can take good pictures for the customer. For internet purchase, all you can go on is the pictures to see all details. Can't understand some companies business model ~Hien

The watch is fine. It's a correct mid-size D-series Yachty w/papers(grey-market).
