Time to cull the white dialed herd...or should I?

I acquired my first Panerai today (posted about it in Panerai forum area ) and it's a white dialed 188 Daylight Chrono. I also have a white dialed U Boat PVD Flightdeck I bought for fun a couple of years ago and a classic Omega GMT "Great White". I guess you could also add the Zenith Defy Classic to the mix as having a white dial but it's more a cream or ivory but close enough.

So my first thought is I have too many white dialed watches and should part with one or two or maybe not?

Obviously not the Pam since I just got it today so the discussion is about the rest.

The Omega is a classic both in size and looks but would I really wear it anymore with having the Pam? The Zenith is a beauty to behold and the U Boat is more of a fun, funky watch at 50mm and PVD.

I like white dialed watches, they're easier to read IMHO... Though you may wish to add a black dialed watch in the future just for variety.

Depends on if you're in the market for something else?

I've never been a big fan of the Defy line but the Aero chronograph is such a looker and fun piece that's always been the exception imho. I'd keep that for sure!

I think you could reasonably move the U-Boat as you've got the bigger white dial chronographs covered. A Great White graced my hands once and while it's a fun piece that rides the wrist well, I would personally sell it for something else but that's just personal preference.

Ever thought of an IWC Spitfire Chronograph with the slate dial? I only say that from the looks of your collection in your signature. Or maybe a black dialed 216570 as to pick-up another GMT to replace the Great White?

That's kind of my test, too. I would probably give some thought to which watch might actually bring in the most $'s vs original cost. I'm not much of a PAM fan, but that white dial version is a beauty.

David, before doing anything I'd like to kindly suggest you to get over your honeymoon with your Panerai. Sometimes the joy of having a brand new watch makes us think funny things, I'd probably forget about this question for a week or so and then think about it again.

Well, that is good enough advice...

I don't need to sell anything for financial concerns and truth be told, I probably wear them all every once in a while but none are my go to pieces.

The Omega I bought a few years ago as I didn't have any white dialed watches and thought it would be a nice add on particularly for the summer.

The Zenith found its way to me when I saw another guy with one while on a flight, thought the guilloche dial was a stunner and funny, to date it has drawn more compliments from non watch people than any other watch I own even though I don't wear it much.

The U Boat was just a fun something if I wanted to go "funky" but sad, I am getting to old for that perhaps.

No shortage of black dialed watches in the case. I stopped counting but I think I have 22 or 23 watches so got that covered!

Well, I can see that but since none of the ones I would part with are high dollar pieces, probably not a big deal.

I bought the Omega as NOS with a nice discount and both the other's pre owned but they are all "losers" from a liquidation stand point so that really isn't going to be a factor nor thankfully do I need the funds to make any other purchases.

Sadly, my taste in watches keeps getting more expensive and even though combined there is several $$$$ sitting in these pieces, it would be a drop in the bucket compared to anything I would likely be interested in buying.
