Question about shipping a Rolex to US

Has anyone shipped or received a Rolex from Europe to US ?
As i have read in other forums, many watches was confiscated by the customs.
How i must declare the package: gift, non-sale/personal, declare full value, etc.
I have a buyer from TRF interested in one of my model and i don't take the risk to ship it and be confiscated to customs. I want to everything gone well.
I have shipped before to US a Hublot and a Doxa, but i understand that customs are interested for Rolex models ( and a few smaller brands ).
Any advice guys ?

my advice is don't do it, is there a particular reason that you are risking losing the watch ?. Is it really worth the hassle ?

I'm thinking as long as the Rolex is authentic ( with papers and everything ) what reason is to be confiscated by the customs ?
If the watch is my property, why anyone has the authority to do this ?
And confiscated means that the watch will be shipped back to me, or customs keep it for them ( eventually sell it after ) ??
If so, i don't think that worth it.....

US Customs sometimes returns the watch to the sender. Most of the time they keep (confiscate) the watch.

Wow great... But what authority give them the right to confiscate and keep my personal watch ? If the sender sue them, they must return it.
Definetely i wont assume this risk, but i'm courios, what chances are that a Rolex to get out from the customs?? Or they inspect every package that has written WATCH on them ??

It's due to Rolex USA's exclusive rights to import Rolexes into the US.

If it is your watch and you enter the US with it in your wrist is OK. If you are shipping it to someone else, they assume it is not your watch anymore, but its property is being transferred. As it is a restricted article (the US, as any other country, can restrict the import of certain articles under certain conditions), it will be confiscated. You may try to argue your case in court and get it back, but the cost may be more than the watch.
