Datejust 116234....

I have been eyeing on getting a 36mm Datejust, white Roman face with jubilee
bracelet, I have looked at few in person, pre owned, it appears that the white gold bezel turns yellowish or get tarnished after wear, anyone notice this??

I have not seen that on Rolex WG but it has happened on other WG items.

I wish they would just make this watch with a fluted stainless steel bezel, not to fond of the dome bezel on the newer 36mm DJ.

the older models when rolex used to rhodium plate their yellow gold into white gold could yellow, but now they have a special recipe that prevents that

I have this exact watch and in NO WAY has the bezel tarnished at all. Mine is 4.5 years old and looks minty. Gorgeous watch.

I suspect the background lighting is the issue with the photo from the OP. Kinda like if there is incandescent lighting and the WG bezel is picking up the yellowish hues.

I have seen dozens of WG Fluted Datejusts and never have I seen a yellow or tarnish look. Of course White Gold does look different from stainless steel.

As to why they don't do a fluted in SS, previous TRF threads indicated the metal working can't be done reasonably in a non-gold.

I like the idea of the Roman numerals, and they have an attractive 'ornateness' but I cannot escape the perception that they 'unbalance' the face of the watch.
The first quarter seems very 'light' whilst the second and third quarters are very 'heavy'.
I wonder if this could be corrected by varying the thickness of the numerals in the second, third and fourth quarters ever so slightly.
Anybody else notice this. Maybe it's just my 'artist's eye'.

You are suffering for your art.

I love this dial/bezel/bracelet combination. This is to me the best looking Datejust.

There's a slight color difference between WG and SS. You may be confusing this color difference with tarnish.

Mine hasn't changed colors, but the WG is a different color from SS.
