Trusted TRF Sellers: Question
Trusted sellers on Rolex Forum, what percentage of watches being sold here are gray market versus sourced from a US AD?
Also, what are the risks of gray market items as it pertains to US RSC acceptance of the warranty? I am sure it's been asked a thousand times, but please indulge my request for info? Thank you, kindly. |

Not sure about the first question, but you will NOT have a problem with RSC if you purchase from one of the trusted sellers.
If the watches was procured from an AD outside of the US, it will not affect the warranty.

1. I'd guess most are GM, but most trusted sellers will answer all qs honestly
2. None as far as I'm aware 3. Cheers

The warranties are transferrable so I dont think you will have any problems with any of the trusted sellers here.

Reason I ask is that I almost bought a new YachtMaster Blue from a seller on eBay who wouldn't really answer the warranty question. He specialize in gray market Rolex and has stellar feedback (100%) for over 1,000 transaction over the 13 years he has been on eBay.
Based on the aforementioned, it certainly called into question the source of our Trusted TRF Sellers watches. |

Exactly. I would never buy a high end watch on fleabay...
As others have said and will agree with me fully, just send DavidSW a pm, I'm sure he can get you what you need at a great price.

The warranty is Global so there is nothing to worry about. My guess from this question is that you want to buy a BNIB, LNIB or 1 y.o. watch? Otherwise the warranty question is moot.

With mediocre follow-up it's no wonder they are the ones selling them, and we are the ones in the position to buy. What ever happened to good salesmanship? It would be really nice if every high-end purchase (houses, cars, watches) did not have to be such a struggle. |

I misread - if it's a new blue dialed YM you want, then my closest AD has one right now and I will be there tomorrow.

Can you do me a favor and ask what you local AD can offer it for? Would be a good reference point for my own edification. I already know DavidSW can do it for less and understand he is a solid dude, which is where I Probably get it from...if he can also get me one of those nifty RolexRolexRolex polishing clothes as part of the deal. You listening...David??? It seems the polishing cloth is the "new" Daytona. Rolex won't provide them and everyone wants one! Thanks guys!!! |

"orly???"
Lost me...what's "orly"? Let me clarify: The salesman is the one who said to me, "Let me talk with the owner and get back to you with a preferred price." Several e-mails and several phone calls later, still no info, other than "I have not been able speak with him"... Over the course of a week??? When a product virtually sells itself, you really don't need "sales people" so much as a warm body to take a credit card and peel off stickers. Would love to know the profit margin and salesman's commission for selling me the Daytona. Anyone know??? |

I imported a tudor date day with "remaining balance" of warranty on a BNIB watch. Still covered in stickers, brand new except it was purchased from overseas AD and sold to the aftermarket dealer I purchased it from. After one month, a piece of lint emerged under the crystal from the day window! Sent to Rolex USA NYC for service under warranty, right? Rolex informed me the warranty was no good because I did not purchase from an authorized dealer. Rolex however removed the lint without charge "compliments of Rolex" and sent me a travel pouch and polish cloth too. Your mileage may vary...
