Why such a high bid on this????

I understand it can be rebuilt, but why is the bid up to over 4 grand for this already? You can buy a complete and authentic 16803 for the same amount or just slightly higher. Once this is rebuilt they will have over 6 grand into it and that's with aftermarket bracelet and bezel. Needs a new crown too.

It's called shill bidders. They out bid themselves within minutes. Look at the bids.

How can it have a 78 inscription if it's a R series?

What is the point though? Unless the bidders are friends of the seller and driving up the price? I just can't see why anyone would pay more than $3K for that, and that's on a good day because it will never be 100% authentic.

For another grand you can buy this and slap in on your wrist the instant it arrives.

Geez or how about this, buy it now for $3800. Get one of those Italian aftermarket bracelets for $950 bucks and you're good to go.
