kenny loggins made me do it --- new strap !
after seeing some amazing pix and reading up on john's website, i decided to take the highway to the danger zone.
after a few weeks of patiently waiting, the strap just arrived, and the craftsmanship seems exemplary, the color is perfect, the smells are wonderful and the feel of the strap is extraordinary. this really is on another level from my other straps, OEM included (we'll see how it ages, though). john takes the time to work with you to find the exact specs you want and he seems to be a great guy. the level of customization is really cool. after much back and forth, i ended up with tobacco alligator, hand antiquing, chocolate linen stitching, kangaroo lining, one fixed and one loose keeper, padding at the lugs, regular unbranded pre-V screw-in polished buckle and tubes. that's what worked for me, but, the combinations are seemingly limitless. extra bonus: gummy bears! here are some pix..... thanks for looking. |

the "best"? dunno....but, he's really, really good.
actually, no, not at all. the strap does have some "form", but, that's from the padding. the leather itself is so incredibly butter soft and smells good. like no other strap i've felt. Quote:
thanks guys. |

thanks! the antiquing process adds to the overall look, i think. the strap is buttery smooth and new, but, it has the look of something that's been around the block. exactly what i was looking for with this strap. |

Lovely colour and croc pattern! But just one thing - and don't take this the wrong way Cru, the keepers seem to look a little more "matching" with the OEMs. Enjoy!
