I would have no idea where to start to find mine as I'm a mutt and I'm leery of what I find on the internet... I would really need to look-up some ancestors and crack some books.
My wife has her family crest (japanese mon) and can be traced back to 16th century samurai. |

Do you remember forcing the dial on the backstroke when you were in a hurry to make a call?

I wouldn't really know where to start since I've always known a bit of the background and the Scottish clans are very well documented. The Internet might be worth a quick look to see if there is a family society that could point you in the right direction.

Quite interesting.
She has a lot of old trinkets spread throughout the family with the crest. The family tree is crazy and written in old Japanese on parchment from her great grandmother. There's even taped paper along the edges when the history goes way back...My wife continued to search when she was at university in Japan. I commissioned a sword maker to make a full daisho (3 sword set) with the family crest which now resides with her parents but is intended to honor the entire family. My son will inherit the set from his Grandfather. It wasn't cheap and took about 3 years to complete the koshirae concept... I could have purchased a new nautilus but they're unbelievable to behold in the flesh. |

Sounds a great gift though we best not discuss in anymore detail or the mods will send Chuck Norris to open a can of whoop-ass!

That's what I was thinking. I just realized I am old.

Cool!!! I don't think they work anymore over here since we've gone over to all digital exchanges. I think there are some companies that convert old phones, though... Maybe I need one!?

My father would signal my uncle (50 miles away) that we were coming to visit by placing a person to person call for himself and my uncle would say, "He's not here but we expect him shortly."
Long distance charge saved. An hour or so later we'd pull up in the 1949 Plymouth. |
