Do you wear your Rolex at night?

I don't, and simply have been leaving it on the nightstand, clasp closed, face-up.

Is that good? Bad? What do you all do/recommend?

Bedside table "ready-case" or in the watch box if I'm not wearing it that day (I alternate it with my Omega SMP Chrono Diver, Hamilton Khaki Navy GMT and Casio Pathfinder).

Never wear a watch over-night unless out in the bush / deployed overseas.

I've got two on the dual winder so the third one I'm wearing is usually on the bureau, face up with a microfiber cloth between the watch and the band.

I wear mine at night, but for baths I set it on the counter in the bathroom. So it can get knocked off.

I have a little leather valet on my nightstand. I rest it on a microfiber cloth in there.

On my dresser face up if it is running accurate, face down if running a bit slow. When placing it face down I lay it on the Rolex cloth that came with the watch.

They are actually in my bedroom. I keep them in a box I got at Bombay Company (going out of business THIS WEEK, get one- $40.....). I have new pillows coming in black.

But to get to them, first you have to make it past my crack security team, Rocky and Yogi.

If you make it that far, and I don't want you there, you will be leaving.

I keep mine stored in their original boxes. I take out the watch I plan to wear and that's pretty much it. I try to rotate the watch I am wearing at night by changing the position every night when I take it off. I lay them on their side. Sometimes the crown is up, sometimes down, face up...etc.

I mentioned this before in other threads, but I love opening the original box to take the watch I want to wear. It is easier for me now since I sold all my other watches and kept only the Rolex watches.

I realize, this system is not for everyone. It works for me.

mine is somewhere in the house, but right now I don't know where. I've been painting a few rooms this week (since I'm off till after Jan 5). Its here somewhere.

I usually set it on the counter in my bathroom or in the kitchen on the butcher block. I don't care where I set it, as long as its face up ;).

If you can't treat it like a sports watch, what good is it? I wore my last
Submariner for 16 years, and hardly took it off at all. Mowing the grass, working around the house, changing the oil in my cars (something I don't do anymore actually)...Im a tad more careful with my Z-series Sub, but not to an extreme. ;)

i cant really understand why anyone cares where i keep my watch. this has been gone over alot on this forum and my gut feeling is its noones business.

As the original poster, I wanted to address this query: My reason for asking is purely technical. I am curious if there are any bad/good places/positions to keep a mechanical watch for the 6-8 hours I'm not wearing it.

I do wear the watch over night, just became a habit. Off-duty Rolex is in a Rolex box as a alternate SD and GMT II.

See if this will help you:

"When you take your watch off at night, lay it in a position that assists in adjusting the time without the help of a specialist. If your Rolex is a little slow during the day, lay it flat, with dial up as this position tends to gain a few seconds during the course of the night. If the watch is running a few seconds fast, lay it in a vertical position with the crown down as this position will tend to lose a few seconds per night.
