Hard to say goodbye

The time has finally arrived to send my 6536-1 to Mr. Ridley for the attention it so rightly deserves. It's just so darn hard to let it go, even if it is for just a couple of months. Anyway, if any of you have pictures of your 6536 to tide me over and show me the pot at the end of the rainbow I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

What a gorgeous piece, no wonder it was hard to part with. The results will certainly be worth it!

Thank you! I am sure it will be worth it, but none-the-less it's tough.

I've got to send mine in too. It's a project watch that needs a new dial or a redial. Can't wait to see yours when it gets back.

Thank for the wrist shot, I can't wait to take a few of those. Your dial looks nice from that picture. Why do you want a new one?

Thank you! I know it will be in good hands, I just don't like having it out of mine... Honestly it's the shipping part that makes me most nervous/

Thanks! I don't have a bracelet for it, a 7206 is next on my list. I got the leather strap which I really like from Jedly, and figured Bob could put a buckle and spring bars on while he had it.

It's in the best of hands. I've shipped to and from Bob many times without incident.

Thanks Dan, that's comforting to know. Although I won't be at ease until I hear that it's arrived safely tomorrow morning. You may also be happy to know that I just received a Maratec regimental strap for it. I can't wait to see what they look like together.

Thanks everyone, I knew that I would find sympathetic ears here. My wife thinks I'm a big baby. I will keep you all updated as I receive those really cool pictures that Bob sends along and of course the finished results.

Yay, she made it. I had a great conversation with Bob yesterday, he is clearly passionate about what he does. It is refreshing to work with a true craftsman who takes such pride in his work. I know she's in great hands. The only thing I'm nervous about is stabilizing the hands. Here are a few pix. Now comes the waiting....

If I may ask.
What is Mr Ridley's remit?
Is he purely to concentrate on just the movement or have you asked him to look at anything particular?

Regards
Tony

I asked him mostly to focus on the movement and seal integrity. I want to keep the watch as original as possible, consistent with maintaining it's history and value while getting it working and to preserve it for the next generation of my family.

Maybe not, here are before and after pix from a dial repair project Bob did a while ago. Its not perfect, but its still mostly original:

I one it will come back in great shape and absence makes the heart grown fonder.
Are you getting the hands stabilized too?
