Your AD. Chain or Family Owned?
I started a thought in another thread
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...t=28877&page=2 and it got me to thinking. Where did you get your watch? Large chain AD or a family owned AD? Has anyone gotten a discount on a Rolex at the large chain ADs such as Tourneau, Jareds, or Ben Bridge? |

Family owned with very little discount but I guess that's better than none at all.

Both local AD's are family owned. Small discounts (3-10%) offered based on model.

Jared's. They treated me very well but no discount. The only other AD in town is family owned, I believe, but wouldn't give me a discount either and I felt I was treated better at Jared's.

Family owned. I've never met "the family," but I like and appreciate the people who work there.

Local family owned with two stores. They do offer a small discount. I haven't used them because I tend to buy pre-owmed online.

My AD applied for and received the first business license every issued in the City of Chicago. I think it's corporately owned. I get great service and great pricing from them.

No discount on LV Sub or SS Daytona, decent discount on jewelry. The AD treats me well, greets me by my name when I walk in, lets me know if there is anything new and will order for me without a deposit and also calls to check on me.
I've got an order for a green sapphire Milgauss right now and waiting... But I'd pick up a Sea Dweller while I'm waiting if I got a decent discount. |

Two ADs in my town. One family owned and one chain. I prefer the family owned. More personal attention and better selection than the chain. Their staff also stays around longer.

I live in New York near the city, so there aren't many family owned. I have visited a few but the big guys just have way more to choose from and I can trade up at Tourneau.

Family owned - no discount. They were, however, very respectful and helpful. The owner told me that his few employees do not work on commission so their advice was not centered around their cut of the sale. I don't know if that's true or not but I had a pleasurable experience dealing with them.
