Is there any potential problem if the date on a Rolex(non chronographs) is changed at any specific time of day?Like perhaps from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 am?

Well, I never adjust the date between 10 PM and 2 AM just to be sure that the manual date changing does not interfere with the date changing mechanism. On the GMT II, however, you can change the date whenever you want.

It matters on the Day Date.

I have been told not to mess with the Day or Date features between 8pm and 4am.

Here in Sweden we change date at midnight. But I´ve
heard they do the same in NZ at noon.

I think you can even crank the time backwards if that gets you to the right date faster. That's a no-no on some watches, but apparently not the modern Rolex movements.

Gets me thinking though. Do any Rolex movements have a push button date advance? I mean that's really the issue isn't it? They lack a non-crown based adjustment that could really screw the watch up if used while the date function is engaged via the watch mech.

I just heard about the "times" that you should and shouldn't adjust the dates. In 17 years I have changed times and dates and never had a problem with mu Subs.

there's an article "a world apart" published in the latest issue of revolution magazine (and also it's online portal, horomundi.com).......where a group of journalists were invited to tour the rolex manufacture.....

from that article: one of the "12 things u dunno about rolex",

was one could adjust the date wheel any time of the day..... but if u wanna play safe, you can avoid this activity between 9 pm to 3 am....

it's your watch after all.......... :)
