Rolex and 10:10

Why does it seem that Rolex and every single other watch is always stuck on 10:10:30? Is this just for looks, or is there some meaning behind it?

According to "The Rolex Report".... by John Brozek

"Rolex watches are photographed in the following position: Time set at "10:10:31", with the Day set at "Monday", and the date set at "28". Adjustable Bezels are set at the "12 o'clock" (or neutral) position, with 24-Hour hands set at "10AM", and on Daytonas, the Tachymeter hand is set at "54" seconds"

It's the best setting to show all the detail in the dial.

Agreed - seems to allow all features of the watch face to be seen without obstruction.

Gives a Happy Face to the watch, too.
