Authentic preowned Rolex info in NYC

Well today I made a few calls in regards to verify a preowned rolex in NYC, first I called the RSC on 5th ave in NYC....they will charge $150 to verify your preowned rolex in regards to insurance guidelines (meaning if you wanted to insure your watch, an insurance company would need proof from rolex). This process can take 2-10 days, pretty long of you asked me.....then I called Tourneau in NYC and they don't do it but recommended a reputable well known watchmaker called Aaron Faber...did google search and seems very reliable...they charge $100 and it take 10-15 mins.....just some info I discovered today....if you guys know any cheaper reputable ways please let me know...

Thanks in advance

not to sure for watches, but when my mom was getting jewelry insured AAA would only accept appraisals from a few different appraisers. so I would check with your insurance company first to see whose a trusted appraiser.

If you decide to go to A. Faber whatever you do don't leave your watch with them.

Have you already made the purchase and taken possession of the watch? If not, then the oft voiced addage about buying the seller will settle your nerves. Why buy from a source that you'd have doubts about? Even in this market, there are still more watches than buyers and waiting for a deal that you're comfortable with seems best from my viewpoint.

But, if the watch is yours and you're having buyers remorse, then just walk the watch into Rolex NYC and ask for a service estimate. They'll generate one for genuine watches and look daggers at you if the watch is fake. No charge for estimate. Of course, don't tip your hand and reveal your real motive...just walk it in and ask about a service.

Try Lorilil in Queens. They did a full insurance appraisal for my Deep Sea for $75. Took ten minutes and they were pretty cool.

There has been several negative occurences with A. Faber specially a real bad incident with Pav involved.

I tried to find it but haven't so far, maybe someone can help?

My insurance company accepted my receipts for pre-owned watches and used the new MSRP of the pieces for its replacement value.

Yes that does ring a bell. I do remember Pav having a serious issue with him. I just don't remember all the details.
