Worst nightmare

The other day my wife told me why in the hell would you buy a Rolex from an authorized dealer and pay almost full price when you can buy used one that looks practically brand-new and save about $15-$2000.. I replied by telling her I don’t feel very confident that I can spot a fake one I told her one of my worst nightmares would have been me buying a watch for example a submariner and wearing it for about 40 to 45 years and then me being in my deathbed ready to meet the all maker and somebody grabbing my hand and telling me that’s a really good looking fake Rolex that you have on their and then me going off . That indeed would be my worst nightmare

No. Just because you think everybody's out to get you, it doesn't mean they aren't!

your wife has a point ... AD is just a middleman and you pay for peace of mind ... that's why I am looking at the web for better deals .. if you have the knowledge then look on the web, you can save some serious $$ provided you know who you are dealing with ...

Judging by some of the threads we've been getting lately, it seems so..

Your wife brings a good point. I am looking only at used watches. If I can find a "buy" for a lower price and then authenticate it for $150 or whatever, then why bother? I'll take it on step further. Taxes in San Francisco are 8.25%. I want to buy in a different state (mabbe New Hampshire since I visit those areas a lot).

I'd rather meet my Maker wearing a fake Rolex than a ClownMaster II!

Don't be a cheapskate/victim...use an AD. Would she have her boobs or other plastic surgery done by the lowest priced doctor? I hope not.

Not everyone can afford a BNIB Rolex. You can go to reputable grey dealers that can give you decent discounts.

If its from a private seller, have RSC authenticate it first prior to handing over the cash.

At the end of the day, only you know where your comfort zone is. Stay in it.

If it is any comfort to you, a Folex would hardly last 40 to 45 years. It would "die" long before you die.

But a real Rolex will literally outlive you since the power reserve would make it "die" approx. 40 to 45 hours after you die.
