It's a good investment. Every rolex I bought increased value - it works on my wife sometimes

I would certainly endorse this as a welcome change here in US!

Before retiring I would maximize the withholding made against my salary/bonus using my capital gains to owe a small bit each year - or defer large bonuses to January of following tax year, or stock options.

Whenever the IRS owed me anything I always thought about what else I could have done with that money the prior year.

It's safe to say she gets it.
So a woman is telling you to get a watch because it could be a chick magnet?

That's why she's a great accountant

Doesn't work when there is no withholding as in France as was described. In the us unless you can shift income from w2 income to cap gains or carried interest you are paying.

I try to explain this to family but all they think about is who needs an 8k watch. What can you wear and enjoy as much as a rolex and still get a profit or small loss over the course of a few years.
