New w/question - Sub Serti Dial
Hi,
Been around here for a couple of months. Currently, I own two subs. A 50th anniversary model and a TT black dial sub. I have been thinking about picking up a TT blue sub, but for some reason the serti dial with the blue bezel has caught my eye. I have only seen one person wearing one. A woman in front of me at O'Hare in Chicago had one on. Believe me, I live around a lot of Rolex watches as live in Los Angeles, but I don't see the serti dial. My question is - is this a man's watch or a fashion watch for women. Anyone out there own one? Thanks!!! |

it depends upon taste and according to manufacturer Rolex its obviously a men's watch and I myself like the serti dial TT sub vry vry much.
Go with it you would never go wrong with TT sub but again TT sub had always been recognized most as the deep blue dial. I think if you really want a TT sub you can go with either of the dials. If I would have been in your shoes I would have purchased the Blue dial TT sub but you should definitely purchase the one with which your heart goes as that matters the most.

Man's watch. I would take a look at the TT black serti, yum!
TT blue is a little over the top for me. The TT black is just right. |

Welcome to TRF. Glad you stopped lurking and came out into the sunlight.
The serti Sub is definitely a man's watch. But there are plenty of women who wear larger watches, ioncluding the 44 mm PAMs. So once you get to the 36 mm size, I would say most watches become unisex, unless they clearly are making a fashion statement (and even then the lines blur).

The serti dial's nice, and all things being equal it would be a neck-and-neck race between it and the blue dial. For me, the fact that the blue dial's got luminous markers and the serti doesn't gives the old blue an edge.

I just purchased a TT SUB with the slate serti dial. I have to wait three weeks though to get it. I really like the blue as well like most here but As JJ would say the slate sang to me. I have a TAG with Diamond markers and thought that the diamond markers were not too flashy on the SUB so I went fo it. I'll post pics in a few weeks

Slate serti sub
I have a brand new slate serti sub as well. I originally wanted the blue but the slate serti sang out to me too. The champagne serti looks great on an all 18K watch but looked funny to me on the TT. I now have a matching sub and GMT II with slate serti dials. The GMT has rubies instead of sapphires and was discontinued mid 2006.

I have the champagne Serti and blue bezel with the 18K gold case and bracelet. They are just stunning together. I am having a hard time wearing any of my other watches. To me, that and the platinum/SS Yachtmaster with the Sunray blue dial are just beautiful works of art.
