Yep that would annoy the shit out of me..... And I thought this was exasperating and may sound pernickety but I like to align my minute and second hand so they work exactly in sync. I notice on my DJ11 that on part of the hourly cycle the second and minute get out of sync i.e. the second hand hits the 12 but the minute hand doesn’t align at the minute indices …as much as I try to align it never works out for the entire hour but always seem to work out from an hourly perspective as the minute “catches up” in the hourly cycle and keeps pretty much perfect time... It’s no biggy but other watches including my Sub C once set, hits all the right spots at the right time without missing a beat…..

OK go get a life.... I know sad........

That would drive me crazy. I want the hands to line up perfectly on my watches. I even set the second so when it's at 12 the minute hand is line up at the right minute mark. Send in to rolex it's under warranty. This poor QC to let this watch pass through !

Would drive me crazy. Not after I spent that much. If it was a Fossil, no big deal.

Am I the only one who thinks that it should be nearly impossible to spot the movement in a 24-hour hand when advancing the minute hand by 3 minutes? My point being that I find it difficult to see the problem here... I do not think there is something even remotely wrong with your watch.

It's the hour hand that's misaligned...not the 24-hour hand.

Thats correct I think some are not even bothering to actually read the thread before replying its less than a 1mm hour hand alignment.

If thats normal then Rolex quality is way overstated and the watch is over priced.

Interesting.

The issue (and I do see the issue) would bother me enough to phone my credit card people. With the price of a new rolex I'd hold or file a claim, via credit card, untill the issue is solved to my liking through an authorized dealer.

cheers

When [if] I buy one of those I'll be alert for a bozo QC problem. At that price I'd be inclined to return watch quickly, get full refund from credit card company.

Can always wait a month then, use another card to purchase from some other AD.

cheers

This is one of the things I check before buying a watch. I think it is worth taking a checklist to the AD and having 5 or 10 mins 'quiet time' to look over a piece. ADs are distracting places, so this is not alwways easy!

Yup me too. And I don't care how long I take but I go over a watch with a fine tooth comb.

LOL thats funny, I always had a little sticky note in my pocket when I looked over my watch before purchase, good to know that I'm not the only OCD person here!

So sad I hear this. Its an easy fix. I would not let them take my watch for 6 weeks, maybe 60 minutes, so they dont need to rush.

Open watch, take out mechanisem with dial, take all 4 hands down, set watch to 24.00 hours (so date is set on midnight) put back on all 4 hands, mechanisem back in the case, pressure test one more time and voila.

I think I would faster do that job, than I was writing this post.

I'm sure they have more than one watch in line for repair. :)

Well.... i made a lot of phone calls and finally, i think i will send the watch via fedex to Geneva.
In my country there is only one AD and there is a guy working there at the service department that WILL be a watchmaker in a few months! NO WAY am i going to let him touch my watch so... Geneva seems to be the only acceptable thing. :)

IMHO its such a very very tiny miss-alignment you have to look very hard to notice it and will not effect the telling of the time or function of the watch.Myself would rather wait till normal service time have it done then but its your watch.

Just came across this thread. Can't believe some of the comments here! That watch is badly out of whack in a manner totally unacceptable in a new precision piece. Assume RSC fixed it.

That would drive me crazy too! For the price of these watches you would expect better quality control. I would send it and have it fixed or take somewhere and have it fixed.

good luck!

tool watch enough said! infact the 24 hr mark and the dial minute and hour marks are to serve as just an approximate reference! same logic as slightly off bezels!

With all due respect. I disagree. At this price point I expect a certain level of fit, finish, attention to detail. And accuracy. Hands that are "almost right" doesn't cut it for me. Same with an off bezel. Of course, if one is in it strictly as a tool and are willing to spend $10K for a tool that is not even doing it's primary job accurately (displaying the time) then sure, it's no big deal.
