Well Bob. This is TRF and I am very happy with my Rolex Day Date.

I don't care much for the comparing of complications. They are just more things to go wrong.

My Day Date tells me the time, the date and the day.
It is circa 1991 and has always been about +2 seconds/day.
My recommendation is that you snap one up asap.

Sorry about the casual pix but I don't own a suit.

I was going to mention the same thing and have seen much love for the DD on many other forums. When comparing watches though you'll need to compare those with the same complications and not just various pieces of varying brands

I have no respect for a DayDate, I use to put them apart when I'm bored.

Truth be told the DD complication isn't anything special. Plenty of lesser watches have it. 7750 and 2834-2 are two great examples of 'cheap' ETA movements with that complication. Of course I voted with my wallet.

There's nothing wrong with Day-Date at all, it has a rich and storied history and for many, it is the pinnacle of Rolex. However, for me there are more horologically interesting pieces out there for the same money that I would prefer to have. It's probably amongst the toughest precious metal watches out there, but personally I can't see the point of a tough precious metal watch
