I recently got my first Panerai (Pam 183) and have been strap shopping. Can someone explain to me what a Pre-V strap is?

There is pre-v style and pre-v straps.

For collectors getting a full pre-v set on a 201a is a journey and they are willing to pay for the uber rare pre-v strap that is unworn.

Now they call pre-v buckles and straps that have look of those that were made prior to 1997. (Aka pre vendome).
