Bezel come off by accident?
Anyone ever have a bezel come off by accident? I'm guessing that the designs--albeit 1950's design--can take rough treatment.
The older designs use a fairly simple click-spring. Some research on my part on these forums has shown that the springs can and do break fairly easily. The new ball-bearing style of the GMT IIc seems superior, but then the old designs have been used in sea, air and and land adventures for decades. Thoughts or observations? Chris |

There was a report here by a member who went to his AD to collect the new GMT IIc. Just by handling it during the pre-buying inspection, the bezel fell off!
But I guess it counts to the rare occurances!

If you smack them around they might come off accidentally.. It's amazing that a simple press fit is as secure as it is....
I've never lost a bezel on a Rolex, but I have a couple of others..

It has happened with my gmt 16750. I swung my hand around and caught it on a metal magazine rack in my attic (long story) but I hit it just right and it popped off. It was a one in a million shot.
