Totally agree with you.

A gold "sports watch" is just for show. It adds nothing to the functionality of the watch as far as durability with the softer metal.

But for me, it would have to be the panda dial on the WG Daytona ....

Just so much more impact for my tastes...... Although I do like the red hands .....

I'm not hugely into chronos, but that is a gorgeous watch. One thing I like about the Rolex Daytona is that Rolex doesn't cut-off any of the Arabic numerals with the sub-dials. It's a pet peeve of mine but even on some high end pieces I see Roman or Arabic numerals that are cut-off.

I agree the SS/WG Dayts are really quite small and unsubstantial, RG and YG has Dayts at their best.
