Flooding again

Looking at the pics on T.V. I really feel for the people in flooded river basins.....seems like it happens way to often now.
When I was in high school the Salt river flooded and cut Phoenix in two for a week. Nobody could cross and my friend was stuck on the north side for 5 days and could not get back to Tempe.
Flooded rivers are a real pain when they run through a city.

Yeah, didn't they build a fancy new bridge in the 70's over the river to Scottsdale and the thing flooded or washed out? I lived there a long time ago, I know it's changed a lot but I know there are washes that flood quite often like Tanque Verde in Tucson.

We have our own flooding problems here in the Chicagoland area. Luckily it doesn't happen every year but this year it is happening due to all the rain last week(I'm safe where I live). The Des Plaines and Fox Rivers have created quite a mess here this year in the suburbs effected and today and tonite they say we can get about an inch more of water.....

Take it easy.....Leo

Flood of 74 was bad but the 80 flood was worse.....washed away the mill st bridge from ASU to Scottsdale ....it was over a year to build it back
Same thing happened when i was in Tucson with Rillito River....the day I had to go visit it flooded and cut me off for a day

I lived on Thomas Rd in Phx and was a grad student at ASU from 73-75. Had a PT job at the Woolco Store at 3130 E Thomas. I remember Minderbinder's and the "hourly" motels on Thomas. Bought my wife's engagement ring at Tower Plaza. Bought a Honda GW at Camelback Honda in 75. Those were the good ole days, at least in part.
