Tudor - The Creative Younger Brother?
Does anyone else think that Tudor is fast becoming a creative outlet for Rolex as a company?
In my opinion Rolex is to a certain extent restricted by its heritage and positioning as a classical and timeless brand whereas with Tudor they are free to express some creative spirit and at long last they are doing exactly that! We are clearly seeing this with the Black Bay, Heritage Chrono, Black Shield and so on... I for one am very pleased with the direction Tudor is taking and long may it continue |

Definitely think Rolex aims the brand at a younger value-minded demographic.
But I think even luxury buyers want to have things like the Black Shield on hand for those stealth research projects at the local watering holes... The ceramic case will get its trial by fire using the Tudor name just in case some issues crop up.

Tudor has always been able to have more creative license since their beginning. People often forget this but I can see why...
Only recently have they exemplified this in recent years by paying tribute to watches that were always somewhat different than their Rolex bretheren, and by offering materials (Ti and now ceramic) their big brother simply does not. |

they look good and are well-priced, but their best offerings are rehashes of past designs. nothing particularly creative or free-spirit.
i still like them, don't get me wrong. |

I do like the new models, especially your Black Bay, but the Heritage chrono is a downright rip-off for the price. One should expect a REAL chronograph movement for the money. It just makes the original version far more desirable.

I really do like the new Heritage Blue just released....My favorite so far from Basel! Cheers,
PS I deleted the pic of the 1970 7032/0 as it was tooooo big! It is my favorite Tudor of all time and for me they just don't make them like they used to. I guess I am stuck in Old Watch Land...oh well!

I was never even aware of the brand until I joined here, I like them and at some point just might take the plunge and snag one.
