Hey Nick, I've heard that the YM II in Plat is a beaut, which I can believe. But I 've also heard that it's movement isn't anything to turn one's nose up at.

Yes, like Leica a la carte!!
Also that flash website is all bling, Rolex needs a more informative sight you should be able to see all current watch options like the Omega website has.

An all Red Dial and/or Bezel of SD GMT or Sub.

Brush the entire bracelet on the GMT IIc and service your vintage watches.

Great ideas.

Put me in the camp that says--Don't forget what got you here. Service the vintage pieces that are your heritage.

And, if the cyclops on the 116710 is any indication use the anti-reflective feature on the whole crystal.

The problem is Rolex can only service 40% of the watches they sell. Not enough watchmakers. That's where us independent watchmakers come into the picture.

Warranty

If I were the CEO I would extend the warranty policy to the original owner for a period of 5 years against any manufacturing defect. I would then use the warranty to market the watch, i.e., We at Rolex feel so confident in the quality of our watches that we provide a full 5 year warranty. I bet the benefit of this NEW warranty policy to the company would outweigh the actual cost of warranty work. It may persuade someone who was undecided as to whether or not they should buy a Rolex.

What can anyone tell Rolex? They build a good watch, not the best watch (NASA picked Omega to go to the Moon based on testing not sponsorship), and get top dollar for them. Everyone wants one and will pay more for a used one then they will for a brand new one of equal quality. Of course in this day and age people buy high end mechanical watches for the art of time not the science of time.

What would Rolex charge for an automatic chronometer with day, date, month, 24 hour hand and moon phase? I'll bet more than the $1500 one can get a Swiss made Eta with all of that for. Eta made the movement for the Daytona until very recreantly. Eta will no longer sell just the movement because of pressure from the high-end makers. That 28,000 bph looks mighty smooth and the rotor purse like a kitten when it is spun quickly. One might say it runs like a Swiss watch.

Now before you me, I'm still going to someday, somehow get a Tony Soprano Rolex. This is where Rolex shines, a knock off, even an Eta knock will not do. No there is nothing I can tell Rolex; they know how to do it.

I wish they would do something with the pricing on things like. Bracelets, clasps, crystals, and even the inner bezels on the sport models. I seem to go through these parts quite often and I hate buying them. Sometimes after hearing what it will cost me to fix the damn thing I buy a new one. Then like an idiot a few months later I fix the one I thought was just foolish to repair!!!!!

Go easier on the bling
Better clasps
Remove the YM II from the line-up
Bring the Rolex website up to the same standard as the watches

Cut the Daytona Leopard?!!! It's gotta be kept as an example of the worst taste bling made...so horrible that in fact I have grown to love it!

Whoever drew that one up for marketing - cut the meds!!!
