Tired of the "taper"

I love the Oyster bracelet's thickness and smoothness on the wrist, but I do not like the "taper."

So, I attached one of my vintage Speidel's from the same timeframe as my 1665. Loving it so far!

Besides nylon straps, anyone else with a non-tapered bracelet/strap combo?Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367514785.786187.jpg

I don't like the taper in vintage, or modern, Rolex bracelets. It makes them, especially the new ones, wear top heavy.

Looks pretty retro!

A NATO strap would look amazing on that!

Not my cup of tea . . .

The President and the Oyster are for me the 2 most beautiful bracelets . . . so I wear them . . .

Not being a native English speaker, I don't know what a "taper" is, but I can confidently say that type of bracelet is not my cup of tea.

By the way, what is a "taper"?

Taper, in this example, means the "line" of the case to the bracelet, going from wider to thinner. Taper for Rolex watches/bracelets is beautiful, especially on vintage models, as on this old Datejust. Rolex is famous for those lines. That's one of the complaints of the new thicker cases with wider lugs, that Rolex lost that stunning, smooth line flowing from the case to where the bracelet joins.

That is an interesting look.

The best look is a Seamaster bracelet on a Sub...

Thanks Aaron, appreciated. Now I do not only learn about watches here, I can also improve my Spanglish in the process.

Don't care for that look myself but has me wondering how a Sub would look on a mesh type bracelet...
