Question on Rolex series....
A Watch Rep tells me the newest DeepSea made is a scrambled series. Whats the truth on that and if it is true and you buy a G Series DeepSea today from a AD, is it still consider a 2013? Thanks again... SV

They really don't release models in a "series". And if it is BNIB then it is new no matter when the case number was stamped on it. G and Random numbers began at about the same time.

G and random serial numbers are running together. No difference in the watches. Your ad, for once is right but haven't seen random Deepseas yet.

Buddy of mine bought from a AD a DSSD last year and recieved a G series. Another Buddy bought one in Feb from a AD and also got a G. Is that the newest one available? What Im getting at is when you go to sell you get more money for the newer one rather than one from 2008. Both have a G but one card is stamped 2012 and the other 2013 and I still havent seen one that has a scrambled number. Anybody know the real deal on this?

Rolex have never made a series of any watch all they are is nothing more than serial case stamps. Now by the many Internet charts plus the one we have on forum in our Rolex Reference Library .Now by these charts we can get a approximation when the case/clasp was stamped now this don't always mean the exact day, week, or even year the watch was made..None of these charts are official from Rolex as they have never given this information out At the moment the so called Random serial a total of 8 digits, plus G serial with 6 numbers are still being produced at the same time. And the age of any Rolex watch starts from the day its bought from a AD and no matter the case stamp when bought new from AD they all get the same two year warranty..The G serials started to show up at the ADs from around July 2010 a little later the so called Randoms started, so whether G or Random we can assume by these charts the cases were stamped between July 2010 till present time nothing more.

I was saying series as to being a G, V, or etc. Understand they're not an actual series.

Rolex has always had more than one "prefix" released at any one time, so those who think that a V is newer than an M and therefore worth more are wrong as both may have come off the line concurrently... Perhaps if you have serials that are dramatically farther apart it may be true but, still, condition is paramount and a seemingly older example in better condition is a better buy than using serial numbers as a factor.. In any event, G serials were seen in the marketplace after randoms, late 2010, and are still current; in some cases random serials are not yet seen..
