It cooks rice?

I missed that in the owner's manual.

Man, I thought the maintenance minder and the trip computer were the cat's meow!

I heard the new Odyssey vans have a shop vac built inside of the engine compartment. I need to look for the rice cooker in mine...lol!

congrats! Words of wisdom. I think New Mexico is one of the most beautiful states. Truly a land of enchantment.

The Odessey does have a built-in ShopVac, but it's at the rear.

I'm still looking for the rice cooker.

You know, Bob, I have to agree with that.

When people compare watches to cars, Rolex seems to always get pegged with Mercedes, but honestly I think Rolex and Honda have a lot more in common.

Good post!

I agree. There is incredible geographic diversity in this state.

I live at just about 5,280' and from there I can take a 31 mile, 52 minute drive to Sandia Peak that is right at 10,000' and you can experience not only the change in altitude, but also the changes in vegetation and climate as you drive.

This experience is not totally unique, but it's an awesome thing to have these conditions in my own backyard, so to speak.

Congrats! We were off monthly car payments for a while but we're going back on them for a while. It is a great feeling to not have that car payment! Hope you save up for something nice :)

The Odyssey we just bought doesnt have a rice cooker, but it's not your average ordinary Odyssey either. The vac does sound like a useful feature!

I love posole, but I have to watch my pork intake, so it's an occasional treat.

When you're in ABQ, go to Barela's on 4th Street SW and get there early because there is always a long line for lunch.

They have absolutely the best posole anywhere in town and they sell it 365 days a year, despite the fact that for some reason it is traditionally a Christmas season dish.

Thanks! We expect to pick it up in a few weeks, it's getting hand controls, etc installed for my wife.. She is excited. We hope to get many miles out of it, it's our first Honda and everyone we know who have a honda have been satisfied owners for years.

That's the Sandias, Tom.

The Sandias are not only beautiful, but that mountain range protects us from a lot of harsh weather that comes down from the northeast and makes the weather in ABQ about as mild as it is anywhere on the planet.

Just as a favor, could you take your trolling elsewhere.

You can go the Watch Out section and bash counterfeit watches until the cow's come home and fit right in quite well.

Nice commercial, but I thought Dario could have been a bit more specific about his impression.

For myself, I don't think there's a 4cyl., mid-size, family sedan out there that could be more fun to drive, although I haven't pushed it exceptionally hard.

If I could change one thing, I'd put bigger, stiffer bolsters on the seats, like my '03 had.

That's a pretty minor complaint, as the bolsters are way of ahead of most cars I've driven.

Also, I could lose a few pounds, I guess.

My favorite Honda commercial:

Another good Honda commercial:

I drive old(er) cars....compared to most on this forum.
The 07 Highlander was bought new through Costco for cash......I hope it last till I die.
6 years old with only 50k it should.
The 08 Dodge RAM was used too.....from a buddy was going to let it go back to the bank
because he lost his job......So I paid it off and gave him a bucks over and took his family out to eat.....good deal for everybody
With no job for the past 7+ years......and 6+ years away from S.S. buying a new car aint going to happen for me.
Back when I worked for IBM I drove a 15 year old BMW that I bought used for 2500.....call me Mr. Cheapo
I hope your Honda last to 200k........

I have friends who do quite well and never buy new cars. They're the negotiators and the wheeler dealers.

They also get a new car or truck every year or so, it seems.

It also seems to me that the vehicle is less important than the deal.

They're the smart ones.

For myself, I'm not much of a wheeler dealer, so new cars (and watches) give me peace of mind I'm willing to pay for at this stage of the game.

Honda makes a great car. I just picked up new 2013 Toyota corolla to go back & forth to work... Buying sensible cars leaves me more money for more Rolexes...
