Icon20 Roo ss rc

Hi,

I'm the proud owner of a Rolex sub TT C, since a couple of years.

Now I'm looking for a addition to my to be collection.

And I’m thinking about the AP ROO SS RC, black dial.

Any (good/bad) experiences with this model?

- Is it a new model?
- Has there been any update recently?
- How does it fit, not to big?

Any insights on this imo master piece?

Many thanks

The ROO RC is the quintessential ROO so you cant go wrong, altho if you like black dials I would also suggest the Diver, a better looking watch imho, more versatile and cheaper too.

The ROO RC is probably the most recognisable and most iconic ROO series made IMHO, I personally love the white dial, but either is just as awesome, yes Neil has a point, the diver is a cheaper and great looking piece, but the extra crown at the 10 position is not to all tastes, plus It doesnt sport the chrono module, which is what makes the ROO so special! I look forward to the photos when you decide
Good luck !

The "Rubberclad" is one of the most iconic ROO imo.

- No it has been out several years
- AP updated the dial (white gold surroundings around the arab index) White colored Luminova, And blacked out date wheel in 2012.
- All depends on your wrist, You will need to try it on.

Everything he said!

Classic iconic looks and a near perfect size for most guys make it one of the best AP's out there!

Take into count they can be bought preowned for $12.5-13.5K and they are a bargain given their horological history!

Thanks for sharing! really nice collection.

The diver looks great. However the RC has somehow put a magic spell on me : )

@TSW - AP updated the dial (white gold surroundings around the arab index) White colored Luminova, And blacked out date wheel in 2012.
- Is this the H serie?

I'm looking to bye on from 2012 and up (in NL) - is 13,5 K euro overpriced then?

AP ROO rubber clad it is..

Hi Guys,

Since a month I'm the proud owner of a AP ROO RC, 2012 model (New dial etc.)

This is my first AP instead of Rolex.

I'm wondering if the AP is as robust as the Rolex.

- i.e. can I take it for a swim in the ocean? Salt water, diving etc. Any experiences you guys can share?

Many thanks,

I swim in salt water quite often with mine, never had a problem but i do wash it afterwards to stop salt building up, sometimes is gets in the screwheads if you dont wash it after.

I do take extra care with it day to day as opposed to rolex's as the bezel obviously cant get polished if you ding it.

Thank you!
