I need a submariner part

hi,, anyone know where can I buy a original part.

my rolex is a submariner ceramic no date. but I hit the watch by accident and the little white "pearl looking "dot is cracked ,did not fall out , it will be very easy for me to remove it from its seat and put another one, I have many tools in my lab to do this, but I cant find a place to buy that little thing.
any ideas?
thanks

My understanding is that Rolex will not sell you a new pip (that's what that part is called). It might be worth your time to search for other's experiences - I seem to recall a new expensive ceramic insert being the solution to this problem.

This is what I recall reading here with another/similar instance. Hopefully it's not true.

"Ceramic" was completely omitted from my scanning ....

In that case ... Likely to be the $1000 pip....

Now im not the only one with watery eyes.

I was almost over my aversion to the ceramic watches, but this thread put me solidly back in the "aluminum only" camp. Having to buy a $1,000 bezel because your stupid pip broke is insane. I'm willing to deal with bezel/pip issues on a vintage watch, but brand new? Hell no!

If the OP has to buy a new bezel anyways, wouldn't it be prudent to at least try a homemade fix? Has anyone done this before? It seems like some careful dremel work could get the broken pip out. Does anyone sell loose pips?

I called dallas service center , the lady quoted me 495 for a new bezel because they dont
install just the pip.

what I have to say about the ceramic bezel is that it is good, I have hit this thing hard numerous times and the ceramic bezel still intact , just that dam pip that is shatter .

.if I can find someone that has a broken bezel maybe he can sell me the pip. I can easy remove the broken one with my dental lab tools.. jeje.

anyways, I guess I abuse my rolex a lot, but frankly I just cant take it of my wrist, it goes with me 24 7 365 , I have hit it on to rocks ,sumerged it in saltwater extensivly etc, you get the point...

ps,, sorry about my english,

$495 doesn't sound as bad as I would have expected (though it's still the cost of almost 7 aluminum inserts). Also, your English is fine.

Unfortunately Its doubtful if Rolex will supply just the pearl so most probably a new insert and that's going to be expensive around $450 plus. This is one of the many downfalls with ceramic over the aluminium inserts, the aluminum inserts were a DIY easy replacement and the whole insert cost just £37 fitted by the RSC.

Hi.
Don't you worry at all about your English-There are people here in England who cannot speak it at all and what is more they have little intention of ever learning.

Unfortunately a full bezel insert is required I think. Alloy was better in some ways IMHO.

sorry about needing to replace the insert to get the pip. PITA.

as you've said, though, you've been tough on your watch and i hazard to guess that if the insert were aluminum, you either would have had to pick up a couple new ones by now or you would have had to live with a damaged insert.

at least with the ceramic, it looked new until you damaged the pip, and it will look new again for some time.

(this is not really directed at you, OP, but, rather, to the anti-ceramic crowd. )

Gotta love the old school aluminim bezel inserts. $500.00 to take care of a cracked pearl... yikes.

I think Cru brings up some good points.

The way I see it, the problem in this instance is not due to any inherent issue with the ceramic component of the insert itself, but rather the refusal of Rolex to sell you just the replacement pip.

It sounds like the ceramic part has held up to some rugged use by the OP.

That said, unfortunately the bottom line remains $495 vs £37 using the figures quoted in this thread.

Agreed, having found myself on here on a more regular basis now I am finally acquiring my first Rolex, every visit back to facebook reminds me of how terrible much of the grammar and general language is, all of the time

I hate to say it but I think Rolex designed the pip like they did. They had to realize the way it sits it's going to get hit, and they get a repair job costs a lot of cash.

Well not anti-ceramic if it had any real advantage over the aluminium it functions basically the same.Yes it might have a bit more bling if that's what you want but any advantage the ceramic has is IMHO cancelled out by the disadvantages. Now if the ceramic was as easy to replace and around the same cost as the perfectly functional older insert then it might be a slight advantage.

Yes quite true but it only costs around $60-$70 complete and you can fit yourself in around 10 minutes or less..

That was the one thing that worried me about the Ceramics is how high that pip sits too. Even when I would wipe with a cloth you could feel it catch b/c it sits higher that the older ones that were more flush to the bezel.
