Paris hotels?

What are some Paris hotel recommendations? 4th or 5th. Bigger than a closet. Up to $400 USD per day.

I revently stayed at the westin vendone and while there were issues with the first room (which was an upgrade), they put me in a very nice suite with several balconies and stunning views of almost everything of interest in paris. The location was fantasic and considering the price i would go back in a heartbeat. Think i paid about 280usd per night booking directly through them and then having amex platinum for room upgrades at starwood properties. Will say that everything was expensive (room service, breakfast, etc) but I think that is simply the case in paris. Feel free to pm for more details.

I'm looking at a Sept stay, and unlike you, the LOWEST rate I can find for this hotel is $519 Euros

I'd look at reviews and prices from www.booking.com - they've never steered me wrong in all the various locations I've visited in Europe.

Going to see Jimmy Buffett?

I'll be in Paris to see Jimmy in September.

Hotel Prince de Galles. Right next to the Champs-Elysees. Beautiful

Might be kinda of pricey now

In the 5th right across the river from Notre Dame. Beautiful small boutique hotel with great rooms. We had a balcony overlooking the square, a dining room, and a couch which was fantastic. About a 20 minute walk to the tower but I love the St Germain area.

We stayed at the Hotel Mercure about a block and a half from the Moulin Rouge. Good location if you like to go out and have some drinks at night. It was a clean, decent hotel. It is a noisier part of town though. The room was comparable to most US hotels. We stayed at a number around France, and a majority did not have air conditioning (not sure if that is a concern for you) but you may check on that if it is a deal breaker. They did have an ice machine, which apparently is a rarity in the country.

Under $400 for a large hotel room in Paris is pretty tough. The larger hotel rooms, anywhere in the world, tend to be American branded hotels - The Marriott Champs-Élysées have good sized rooms but (purposely chose "but") you're in the middle of hell. I hate staying, walking, or being on that street.

Hotel du Louvre.

Lovely place, great location.

Funnily enough, right adjacent to the Louvre.

When I was a vagabond in college, studying and traveling throughout Europe, I found a nice but small pension in the heart of Paris for $70 a night. This came with breakfast. It was an amazing deal, considering it was during Easter. Now, in today's prices, that same room might be $350-500. I hate inflation

Have you looked into apartments as an alternative?
