Question about a 1970's -1980's Day Date President
Hey All,
New on this forum. I usually hang out on the omega forum on WUS. I have an itch to purchase a Day - Date president from the 70's-80's in yellow gold with the 3055 quick set movement. My question is about pricing. It seems that the full YG that I see on bob's watches and Bernard watches are in the range of $8,000-$9,000. Since gold is high in value, is this partially dictating the price? Will prices be lower when gold is down or does it not matter what price of gold is? Thanks -Dan |

Welcome to TRF. YG DD has been in this price range for awhile, I assume you are looking for 18038. If you want to buy one and keep it for years, you should buy now because Rolex price is always going up, the used watch keeps pretty good value. Good luck with you purchase.

Thanks for the info. I was referring to the 18038. Good to know that the prices have been there for a while and its not just some random spike up in pricing due to gold. |

You may want to consider 18238 as well, may pay 700 to 1k more. It is newer model than 18038. Good luck.
