Perrelet watches

I found some neat stuff at http://www.bernardwatch.com/Perrelet. For example, I really like the watch below:

Unfortunately there is not a whole lot of information about this company on the net. I got the patch about Perrelet being the first to make an automatic watch, etc. But what I am interested in is the reputation of this maker today. Any ideas?

I love perrelet watches. I purchased a limited edition gold eclipse about 8 years ago. It is a double rotor watch so you can see the rotor spinning on the front of the watch as well as through the back. If you goto perrelet.com they have all their latest models listed. Be sure to check out the double rotor collection. You can find some good deals on ebay as well. I just took mine in for it's first service, I hope I get it back soon.

Thanks Jim!

From what I understand, this brand is not as exposed to marketing as Rolex. Did you find the service center to be okay? How sturdy is this watch? I realize that this is more of a dressy watch as opposed to a Sub, but I would not want to have something too flimsy.

I did not use their service center to service my watch, I am using a local jeweler that I trust and he said he could service it with no problem. I think they are pretty sturdy, probably not as sturdy as a rolex but just as good as any other mechanical watch. I don't wear mine as daily wearer because it's more of a dress watch (Rose gold bezel and rose gold rotor). I think the older Perrelet watches use modified ETA movements (Atleast mine is) and after checking their website, they list their movements as exclusive perrelet movements on their new models, so maybe all their movement are now exclusively made by perrelet and thus the significant increase in price on their new models. I don't think there are very many U.S dealers for Perrelet watches, except for the few that you can find on the internet. If you like that watch and can get a good deal on it, you won't be disappointed. Post some pics if you get it.

We have Perrelet AD in Belgrade.I was there few times and I tried their top-model,Skeleton Chronograph. It`s quality is amazing and it`s look is stunning, and ALL of movements were ETA/Valjoux - based. And all that for quite fair price. For example,Skeleton Chronograph cost slightly over 6000 Euros. You just can`t find ANYTHING similar for that amount of money.
Model that I tried look like this one.
