FS : Montblanc Star Nicolas Rieussec Chrono, LNIB, in Canada

Hi TRF community,

This is to present you this fantastic watch from Montblanc, seldom seen around for sale : the Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph.

It has been inspired by the invention of the first Chronograph by Nicolas Rieussec, in 1821. That chronograph was invented in order to precisely measure elapsed time on horse racings, and consisted of discs that rotated by action of clock mechanism and a ink pen that registered the time elapsed when needed. That's the origin of the term "chronograph", or the "writing of time".

Montblanc , long known for its writing pens, has then created this watch and imprinted on it the essence of first ever Chronograph. The rotating discs evoke the early mechanism, and it was a new feature for modern chronographs , soon adopted by other companies.

The Nicolas Rieussec has no running second hand, because the discs movement is so frictionless that the chrono function can be used continuously without affecting power reserve. By the way, it has a superb 72hs power reserve, and a nice size of 43mm, very modern but still classic in its lines.

As a premium, this watch is also a true GMT -- there's a blue hand that indicates the home time, as well the day/night indicator . The hour hand is adjusted in increments, independently from the minute hand -- so you keep accurate time when travelling time zones.

This watch has been bought by myself in behalf of my Father on end of 2009. The watch came with SS bracelet, and he also bought a Montblanc brown croco strap and deployant buckle, which gives the watch a more classical look.

Just notice that this is a watch of MRSP of US$ 11,000 with the SS bracelet alone.

The watch now is to be sold , and it's in my possession now -- the asking is US$ 5,400 for this barely worn, LNIB and complete piece. Only accepted are wiring or cash.

FTF is preferred, I'm in Toronto - Canada . Shipment within USA is also possible, with insurance and freight at buyer's side.
