Fake Tourbillon
I was out to dinner Tuesday night with a group of friends and on the table next to us we spotted a Tourbillon (25977OR.OO.D002CR.01), it looked really good from ten feet, I mean really good. My buddy has the exact same watch though and he instantly knew that it was a fake. The strap was weird and the dimensions were a bit off and a couple of other things that he pointed out. To those without his knowledge though it looked really really good. I didn't know whether to be impressed or pissed. Who knew that fakes were that good. Just FYI.

Yes, but just to reiterate as a few guys on here have posted fakes recently, some without knowing they have even bought them, please make absolutely sure of authenticity because some of the AP fakes are now extremely good and the Tourbys do not fall into that category.

I never understood the mentality of buying something not real in the first place. I own a tourbillon watch. It is a Samsun Watch Company chinese tourbillon. I know exactly what it is and what it cost. Not swiss, but a genuine tourbillon and not a fake. It looks nice and it keeps accurate time.

With respect, there should be.
Discussing fakes and their merits etc with regards to buying certainly shouldn't be encouraged, but my comment was not that. My comment related to seeing a fake in the real world and from my perspective it looked really good. I didn't have it in hand and I'm sure that if I did then it wouldn't have stood up to an inspection. Nevertheless it looked 'real' to me. I guess if there are fake Toubillons then there will be fake 44mm's and 42's etc and thus who knows what you see in real life. |
