Question - Photographing my watch?

I got my TT DJ last week and have been unable to take any decent pics. I have tried with two different cameras and in different light with and without flash. I want to send some pics to friends but the ones I have taken so far do not do my watch justice.

Any help will be graciously accepted!

Try googling a DIY lightbox. It will help immensely (as will the macro function, no flash).

You don't have to go to the trouble of a lightbox necessarily. Be aware of just how close your camera will focus properly. If it has a macro mode, use it. Light your watch well like next to a window. Sheer curtains work well to diffuse the direct sunlight and eliminate harsh shadows. Outdoors on a cloudy day works well also. Most the poor shots I see are simply out of focus. Check your shot's focus and the rest is secondary. If it won't or isn't, move back some.

Try placing the watch on a window shelp in overcast weather. Use the macro mode to get a good close-up pic. Don't use flash since this will give reflections.

At the bottom of the following page you can get further tips.
