Of the two, I'd go with the DJII.
Good luck! |

Please don't take this the wrong way but I'm not sure why you are asking us which one you should buy. I mean, it's not like you told us anything about your lifestyle or preferences, or how the watch will usually be worn (casual or business), nor did you ask about resale value. You didn't even tell us new or used and I only assume new because the watches in your pics have hang tags. Just not sure what advice you are looking for unless you literally want us to pick your watch for you.
So my input is buy the one you like more. And if you can't decide then don't buy either until you do. And please let us know what you end up choosing. Best of luck!

For a first, DJ is my choice. It was my first Rolex also.

Explorer II gets my vote...it was my first Rolex (previous version)
Tough call as I have been wanting to add a DJ to the mix as well. Good luck |

Great choices. The Arabic rhodium DJ2 is my favorite in the lineup. You can pretty much accomplish all with those two right there. If you have to pick one though, I'd go with the Explorer II as it has more functionality. If you wear a suit everyday then maybe the DJ2 is the one for you.

Of those, the Explorer 2.
In today's world, I think the Rolex sport models are more versatile then pure dress watches. The Explorer looks at home whether you're dressed casually or formally. But don't use logic to buy your first Rolex. Buy the one that really knocks you out. If you can't decide, maybe you haven't found the right one yet, the one you like so much, you won't think to ask anyone else what they think... Good luck and congratulations, in advance... |

I'm a sucker for the sport models so I'd probably go EXPII...that DJ looks great though. It all boils down to what you like and which one suits your lifestyle better. If you're looking for something in between sporty and classic, I'd look at the EXP 1. Either way, I don't think you can ever go wrong buying any Rolex....for the most part =)
Anyways, congrats on your future purchase and welcome to the forum. Post pics when you get it! |
