RG RB2 vs RG Schumacher

Big decision up ahead for me. Making some moves to acquire one of the above.

Keen to get people's opinions. Tried to set up a poll but couldn't figure out how.

Schumi for me. Newer model, looks amazing, and can still find one BNIB.

That was quite a hard decision to make for me but after comparing the two of them I must say I prefer the RB2 myself (though the Schumacher is a very nice model as well).

RG.....RB2 if you dont have the Ti version if you do then RG Shumi all the way. Love the crown, pushers, and the dial on the RB2. Good luck on the purchase.

As a wearer or as an investment? If as an investment I would go for the RBII as its resilience in the secondary market is already proven. Too early to tell for the MS.

As a wearer - tough call but I went with RB!

Both. I buy to wear but obviously the value retention is heavily considered. I guess for me it's which one would you think of as the quintessential/ultimate AP RG ROO?

Have to go RB2 here, but it's very close. For me the cut out dial and the value in secondary market sway my decision.

This statement changes a lot.

Like some of the others have stated, the RB2 is a proven one already and had be crowned "king of the hill" ROO for quite some time. The Schumi is an awesome watch, but is still too new. That's like trying to determine if a new car will be a classic in the future vs. comparing to one that's already deemed a collector car by the market/auctions.

I will say both are amazing, but the RB2 for me has a few design elements that are unique. The cutaway dial and pushers are only found on the RB2. On the Schumi, it uses a unique "star" design for MS's wins, but then uses a checkered pattern around the dial, but that's all I see that are unique to the MS design. Thinking about it, I think the checkered pattern might also be used in the Tour Autos/Drivers? Dial is standard ROO dial, pushers were first seen on the GP...

Either way you can't go wrong, but if you are looking for a great watch to both wear and have proven value, then I think your answer is clear.

Schumacher for me in RG for sure!!

Now if we were talking Ti I would have to choose the RB II. Both the Schumi and RB II in rose gold are great watches and you will be happy with either. Good luck with your decision....

In TI, the RBII. In RG it's a tough call.

Yeah, Schumi is alot of the mind due to the recent incomings. I don't think I have seen a RG RB2 posted yet so the pic helps bring some perspective.

That co parison pic does not even come close to showing true beauty of Schumi dial. May Que can post a few good Arab Schumi pics.

SCHUMI is the one.

Schumi for me. It seems more representative of F1 racing than the RB2s to me. I also think it is a better looking piece in general, and it is more modern looking than the RB2s IMO (ducks and runs for cover... ). Of course, YMMV...

There are pics in these threads:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=305165

Also, if you are a fan of racing, Schumacher's wins speak for themselves...
