If I am going to spend the same amount of money on one versus another I would like to make an informed choice, that's all. I have learned much from the fine folks around here in the short time I've been a member. When I see how much some of these watches have appreciated in value I find it foolish not to take that into account. I live in the U.S. so I guess it will matter which insert originally came with the watch if one bezel color is more desirable than another. That's why I asked the question and am very thankful for all the information I received. This is an incredible forum
You are right...Jason isn't...it is interesting when reviewing a watch that sans the decades...lets see if clever clogs comes up with a less tedious post

I have sold 2 16710 Coke's to 2 different dealers over the last few months. Both watches had box, but no papers. Neither dealer seemed to care whether the inserts were original. It never came up during the sale of either watch.

Oh, that's cool. Dig-up a thread from over 2 years ago and then Dog me for my post?? Oh, yea...........

If you think through my post, you would realize that it is just plain silly to post such a thread. An insert can be bought from an AD for less than $100 and then your watch can be either a coke or a pepsi bezel. I guess that there were certain models that came specifically with the pepsi insert (my 16700 is a specific pepsi), but most people want something new or the most recent available.

Solution?? M-serial 16710 with a black, coke, and pepsi insert. No necessity for such threads then.

BTW, I don't visit AD's while I am diving. I am too busy hunting lionfish and watching-out for sharks.

If the pepsi is more popular you might have a larger buying audience. However with fewer cokes out there maybe that will drive your market.

Not nearly as good as the discount you get if you sleep with your AD.
