TRF vs Facebook...

So I'm not sure how many of you use Facebook but as far as I'm concern I used to check Facebook on my phone every few min just to see what people were posting but ever since I became more active on TRF everything has changed I seem to look at FB maybe once or twice a day but I'm on the forum every few minutes looking for new threads where to learn things from and those others that put laughs and smiles on our faces!!!
Thanks TRF for letting us be a part of something so special

Has this happen to anyone else?

Funny, I was thinking about this earlier.

<--- I'm not on FB!!!! At all. Period.

TRF and WUS pretty much does it for me. I have to be the only person that I know that does not do FB.

FB is just too public and catty for me. So, with this in mind... Greetings my friends.

I've never had a Facebook account, and I spend enough time on TRF to make up for it...

Hard to believe but I actually have family and friends with little or no interest in watches.
If nothing else, facebook gives me a way to keep tabs on their illness.

The idea that one must post the minutia of his life to the internet for the whole world to read is a dangerous one.

Too public?

YOU decide what you post, what you share and who you add. You can lock down your profile completely so it doesn't appear on google, so no one can see or find you even on the search etc.

Facebook is useless. Keeping in touch with moldy friends and relatives we really don't care about? No thanks. Besides, FB is just a popularity contest in a global scale.

I'm on TRF a lot because I have quite a bit of downtime at work and it passes the time quickly for me.

I was on FB for about a six weeks, a few years ago. Then, I was unable to get into my account one day, so I shot them an e-mail questioning as to why I no longer able to get into my account. They said they would investigate. It's been over two years with no response. A blessing in disguise, I figure.

My mind goes back when "I will never get a cell phone, because those are only good for doctors and pushers".
FB, is a new way of connecting with people and you can use it the way you like, it's becoming more and more a business instrument as well.

Been on fb for 9 years now. It used to be a party. Now it's just a stream of humblebrags and complaints. While it would be, admittedly, inconvenient to delete my FB account altogether , I spend more time on google plus nowadays. My whole family is on there and the automatic photo backup is amazing. ;)

I figure our time is limited on this earth. I should be selective in how I spend it. This forum is one of my indulgences.
