Any Vertu owners?

If so, what have been your experiences with the concierge services? TIA.

I am pretty sure it is no better than an Amex Platinum concierge service.

Plus when I looked at one in the store the employees sales pitch to me was "you've got the big house, the nice car, luxury watch, power suit (I think I laughed out loud), and what? you are going to walk around with an iPhone like every other a**hole."

never owned one, but have known people that have, and it is no better than amex platinum and surely worse than amex centurion. There are far better products out there that come with concierge service so i personally wouldn't bother with such a ridiculous product that will be obsolete in 6 months. Just one mans opinion.

Just don't think that the concept has any life left.
Blown away they lasted this long. Cell phones are
Ubiquitous, how can you possibly sell them upmarket?
I'm certain they've operated at a loss in many quarters.

Nokia used to own them, but it's now been sold. Can't remember who bought them...

One thing is sure, since Nokia is in a squeeze, had they been making money out of Vertu, there's no chance they would have sold them.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

Spend 5 figures on a device that is guaranteed to become obsolete in a year or less.

At least a Rolex will be relevant and operational for at least a half century, if well cared for.

I have been able to find them at deep discounts (closeouts), so just wondering if at that point it's worth it...

My old man had one years ago. The concierge came in handy one night, but the phone itself was on par with a Nokia 3310... At the time most people were using an iPhone 3G. Haven't seen much of them since then. I guess they have a smart phone equivalent nowadays.

Although,,, I happened to come across the phone earlier in the year at his place and was blown away with how new it still looked. Polished ceramic etc.

Just looking at the website. The video for the Vertu Ti makes it look awesome in a ridiculously extravagant sort of way! I wouldn't turn one down. Although I could probably have a nicer car first. A bigger house too. And acquire some kind of power suit before that purchase.

Not much discount on the Ti's yet, but a secondary 'grey market' (very similar to watches) has emerged for some of the simpler current models. Constellations, Ascents, etc. I am considering getting in, but since I would never sell a product I could speak about intelligently, I have to try one out first.

They come out the box obsolete. They use the older "Ice Cream Sandwich" OS and almost every other "peons" smart phone is more advanced.
Concierge service can be had with AMEX as others have said.
This phone is Dooshbaggery defined.

I was offered a brand new one with the concierge from a customer and most people that dealt in them only wanted to pay pretty low... I believe around 70% off retail. Of course some models have better resale than others so that would have to be taken into consideration.
